One of the busiest sides of our business is upgrading existing communal/distribution systems to distribute Digital TV, both Digital Satellite (Sky Digital) and Digital Terrestrial (Freeview).
These systems are known as Integrated Reception Systems (IRS)
As analogue TV is due for switch off in 2012, and Digital TV offers more channels and interactive services, having access to digital TV is a necessity. Residents will expect access to Digital TV and this is the responsibility of the developer and landlord.
Most existing buildings that currently have a communal TV Aerial system will require upgrading to distribute Digital TV.
If upgrading to an IRS, most buildings will require re-cabling. Once this is done all individual aerials and dishes can be removed.
Recent upgrading contracts we have completed for the installation of IRS include, Dartford Borough Council, Tandridge District Council, Medway Housing Society (MHS Homes), London And Quadrant HA, Hanover Housing Association, and many privately owned and managed blocks of flats.
As you can see we have many years experience installing systems, particularly for social landlords, and this is reflected in the quality of our installations and the management of large contracts.
An installation Manager, as well as a full time on-site supervisor run each contract. All of our installations are carried out by our own engineers to strict CAI Code of Practice, and Health and Safety Guidelines.
All staff are CRB certified, have a CSCS card, as well as Company ID and Company clothing.
IRS systems are very reliable but we always advise maintenance contract is taken out after the warranty period is finished. This is usually done on a per Home/Point price and is all-inclusive of labour and materials. We would be happy to advise and price for this.
